River Kayaking in the heart of the Peak District.

This is a belter of an activity for all staff reward days and corporate away days in the stunning Derbyshire and the Peak District countryside

Get your team together and climb aboard our river kayaks based on the River Derwent in the heart of the Peak District. Your staff and guests are going to really enjoy this

Come on, let’s go messing about on the water!

The River Derwent twists and curves through 66 glorious miles in the heart of the Peak District. And this is your chance to kayak through 4.5 miles of Derwent water between Darley Dale and Matlock Bath. This section is split into two parts, the upper and lower sections

The Upper Section –

After meeting in the nearby pub, your band of intrepid travellers will be kayaking through some of the most interesting countryside Derbyshire has to offer. There will be opportunities to witness the rolling hills that give way to the rivers many twists and turns – it’s simply stunning

This calmer section of the water gives your guests a good chance to practice working together with their kayaking partner before taking on the lower half. Did we mention that these are 2 seater kayaks? Oh, well they are! So they’re great to encourage people to work together to get the best out of them, which is great for team building and relationship strengthening. If you’ve got staff joining you from all different departments, mix it up a little as it’s a great ice breaker

Get ready – things are going to get very interesting from here on!

The Lower Section…

The lower section is where your team will get the chance to take on the Derwent rapids

You’ll need to stay focused and work in unison to get through the low grade white water before you take on those rapids called Flip Bridge and Town Falls!

Got a group that are feeling brave?? We can ramp up the adrenaline to 10 – but get it wrong and you’re in with the fishes!

On a serious note though, only a few people get to see Matlock from THIS unique angle. Whilst you’re paddling through the Wind Tunnel you’ll get the opportunity to look up at the famous High Tor Cliff where you can spot the climbers. They might even give you a wave – which is something we would never do!! Those guys are crackers

So once you arrive at the end of your journey in Matlock Bath, we’ll provide the transport to get you back to where you all started from. And of course the sanctuary of the country pub! They do some great food options in the pub and there are showering and changing facilities there too. We can happily book your group in for some food if you like, and we could even reserve you a room if you’ve got a sales meeting or presentation involved as part of your day. Let us know what you fancy when you call us and we’ll run through some options and costs with you. That evening out going bowling is looking less appealing now, right?!
