Kayaking and Canoeing in the heart of the Peak District

If you’re coming to Derbyshire and the Peak District, you really ought to think about joining us for some water sports activities, because the area is so well suited to it. If you haven’t booked trying your hands at kayaking and canoeing for one of your previous staff days out, we urge you to give it a go. It’s cracking for team building days and corporate events and functions.

Upon arrival we’ll provide all the members of your group with the safety helmets, wetsuits and buoyancy aids required before handing you over to our skilled Instructors. They’ll run through a comprehensive safety briefing and all the essentials to help you get the most out of your time with us.

The kayaks are the single cockpit style and the canoes are the Canadian open cockpit style, and yes you can choose whichever you prefer for your group.

Our Instructors will be close by to your group in their own kayaks to ensure upmost safety throughout the time on the water. And once everyone is used to navigating the water by learning basic paddling and boat movement techniques, we’ll run some fun competitions and races to take part in.

If you’re game enough you will learn the capsize drill. Don’t worry – it’s not essential!

All the members of your group need to be water confident, although they don’t actually need to be able to swim, as buoyancy aids, wetsuits and safety helmets are provided.

The centre has several great options for some food if you’re sticking around for some lunch. There is a restaurant and a café on site, as well as BBQ stations if you’re joining us in the warmer months.

And if you would like to make it a full day out there are numerous other activities available on site too, including Kayaking & Canoeing, Windsurfing and Sailing. Go on, give your staff the day out they deserve!
