The Farmhouse was built in the 1860’s and it still lovingly retains many of the existing features, such as the fireplaces and cornice in the sitting rooms and you’ll just love the impressive staircase. This is our flagship property, and is absolutely ideal for a large group getting together for some fun in luxury surroundings
This impressive property overlooks beautiful mature gardens with extensive lawns. There’s a large pond to the front which is a perfect location for a picnic, and there’s also a floodlit tennis court to the side (you’ll need to bring your own rackets and balls though). We can’t stress this enough – this is a truly superb property for larger groups and it has the added benefit of a lower ground floor where you’ll find a full sized slate bed snooker table and a games room complete with table tennis table. For some reason our groups always seem to end up down here if having a late night boozy get together! And you can fold away the table tennis table if you’re wanting the space for a party get together/dancing room. Of course the equipment is provided for both tables, (however we recommend that you bring some spare table tennis balls!)
The ground floor has two large sitting rooms, each one with a modern TV, and one has a DVD attached. The TV’s have HDMI sockets, just in case you want to bring a games console with you. There’s newly installed satellite broadband available at no extra cost, however please be aware this is the countryside so please don’t expect it to be lightning fast!
Both of these beautifully presented rooms again retain many of the original features, and they have fireplaces for those cosy open fires when the colder months set in. There’s a superbly stocked large kitchen, which is open plan to the dining facilities. There’s a range cooker, but don’t worry it’s easy to use as it’s electric. Continuing along the ground floor there’s also a shower room with shower, WC and basin. And there’s a bedroom with double and single beds on the ground floor too, which is great news for anyone that might struggle with stairs. There is also a really handy utility room complete with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. This room comes in useful if you’re joining us for any of our messier activities. On the note of activities, we’re able to bring some of them to be run on the surrounding grounds. Just ask if you would like more information on this
On the split level first floor you’ll find an additional five bedrooms. The master bedroom has a four poster bed with a generously sized en-suite bathroom, which has both a bath and a separate shower cubicle. A second large double bedroom also has an additional single bed in it and also benefits from an en-suite bathroom. Wander down the corridor and you’ll find three more bedrooms – one double and two twins, and two of these rooms have hand wash basins. Also on this level is a family bathroom and a separate shower room
The second floor provides two further bedrooms – one twin and one quad room. There is also a single folding bed, which you can put up in whichever room suits you best. All of the bedrooms have superb views over the surrounding countryside
The Farmhouse overlooks wonderful mature gardens with extensive lawns, an un-fenced pond to the front and a tennis court to the side. The tennis court is shared with the stable conversions in the neighbouring courtyard. The Farmhouse garden has a pretty patio area, complete with wooden picnic tables and there’s a charcoal BBQ provided for those warm evenings sipping your favourite beverage! Bear in mind though that you’ll need to bring your own charcoal
All towels and linen are provided, and the central heating costs are included. A small and basic supply of various consumables are provided for your arrival, (such as toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, etc), however we advise bringing an additional supply to last the duration of your stay
And finally, if it helps, for an extra cost lip smacking meals can also be prepared and cooked by caterers right there in your kitchen if you don’t like the idea of cooking. If you want large group accommodation with that extra feel of luxury you’d be hard pushed to find anything close to the charm of The Farmhouse
